NO app is required. A Geolocating Audio Tour is accessed simply by calling up a web page. Venues manage their Audio Tour content by accessing a separate web page. For visitors and venues, there is absolutely no app to download. The Geolocating Audio Tour platform is a cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) that is automatically maintained and kept up-to-date, with new features added periodically.  

To provide a Geolocating Audio Tour to your venue visitors, your geographically accurate venue map is needed. Your venue and visitors must also accept the terms of the clickthrough license agreement shown at the start of every Audio Tour. You can view the license agreement by accessing the demo at https://nearbyreality.com/demo webpage. Subscriptions are available at no cost to nonprofit venues and for a small monthly charge to for-profit venues.  Visitors can access your Audio Tour for free on their GPS-equipped and Internet-connected smartphone or tablet.

We will work with you to develop a geographically accurate map, ideally in vector graphic format, for your venue. We offer map-making services at an hourly rate, or we will try to connect you with local experts who can create your map, and make it geographically accurate using tools built into the Audio Tour platform. The task of  scanning and/or uploading your map and geolocating or corner-pinning the map is included in your Geolocating Audio Tour setup.

To grow and evolve your Audio Tour content, first log in to your dedicated host site  web page using any Internet-connected device (GPS not needed). Then click 'Edit' to utilize the simple-to-use content editing tools. You can continually self-manage your script, audio, and also picture or graphic media content. Start by repurposing your existing print and website content to create short scripts for browser text-to-speech, then associate each script with a location on your venue's  geolocating map. Consider engaging staff, volunteers and community to collaborate to evolve your content.
